LOTRO: Exploring Middle-earth: Bruinen

The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar (commonly abbreviated to LOTRO) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) for Microsoft Windows set in a fantasy universe based upon J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writings. It takes place during the time period of The Lord of the Rings.
The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar allows players to discover their heroic destiny in the ongoing struggle for Middle-earth. Players of all levels will explore incredibly detailed realms and join familiar characters in an evolving and persistent re-creation of Tolkien’s beloved world. They will face the dangers Frodo and the Fellowship left behind when they began their epic journey to destroy the One Ring.
The River Bruinen lies at the western borders of Rivendell, the refuge of Elrond Half-elven. Also known as the Loudwater, it flows out of the Misty Mountains in the northeast and runs southwest until it meets the Hoarwell and becomes the Greyflood. The Bruinen belongs to Elrond and obeys his commands through the power of the Elf-ring Vilya, protecting Imladris from unfriendly forces - though none but the bearers of the Three know this.
The Bruinen has served its purpose well for many ages, but never so much as when it protected Frodo Baggins, bearer of the One Ring, from the Ringwraiths of Sauron. When the Nazgûl entered the river, the Bruinen rose up against them like a cavalry charge, enhanced by the power of Gandalf the Grey, It swept them away, sending them horseless and shapeless back to Mordor.
